This snowstorm was the result of a low that had developed off of New Jersey early on the morning of the 4th. Snow overspread New England by mid morning. Amounts varied with this event. The cape and islands received virtually nothing, but off cape and into Rhode Island and the rest of New England received up to 16 inches.
